Alachua County Community Support Services, along with local faith-based organizations, invites the community to attend an “Honoring the Departed” ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The ceremony will start at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery (401 SE 21st Ave., Gainesville).
“Honoring the Departed” is a ceremony that memorializes indigent individuals who were unclaimed, abandoned or unknown. The memorial honors those who were buried with no service. The ceremony will consist of songs and inspirational readings to honor those who passed away in 2023.
