ALDI to celebrate Starke grand opening

ALDI will be holding a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new location in Starke on Thursday morning.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 8:30 a.m. at 1371 S. Walnut St. and the doors will open at 9 a.m. The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

According to a press release, the first 100 customers at the Starke store will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of ALDI fan favorites products along with a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket giveaway program. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card.

The new store is part of ALDI’s expansion plan to become the third-largest U.S. retailer by store count by the end of 2022.  

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for five years running,” said Matt Thon, Haines City regional vice president for ALDI, in the press release. “We’re excited to open our first ALDI store in Starke and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”
