An interviewing event at the Hotel Indigo this week is helping the new Gainesville location of Dave & Buster’s move closer to its February grand opening.
The restaurant/entertainment center is in the process of hiring 125 people for the Gainesville location. While several positions have been filled, the venue still has openings for servers, bartenders and cooks, a company spokesperson said.
Most of the remaining open jobs in Gainesville are part-time, but Dave & Buster’s does offer full-time positions. More than 30 percent of the Dallas-based company’s management was promoted from within the company, according to a company press release.
People interested in working for Dave & Buster’s can walk-in at the event at the Hotel Indigo, 5020 SW 30th Lane. The hiring event continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and will continue 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 18-23.
Coronavirus-related safety measures are in place for the hiring managers and potential employees, including a mask requirement, social-distanced interviews, temperature checks and sanitized spaces.
Applicants must be 18 or older and can begin the application process online at dandbjobs.com.
“At Dave & Buster’s we are always looking to hire those that ‘work hard and play hard’ and look forward to building our family of passionate and goal-oriented individuals that will provide a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience to all our guests,” Kendrick Smith, the Gainesville general manager, said in a press release.
The 18,500-foot location, which is part of the Celebration Pointe development, will have its grand opening on Feb. 8. New hires will begin training Feb. 1.
According to the company, some of the positions at the venue come with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision and a 401(k) plan.
