Linda Vista is poised to open its second Gainesville location as the Mexican restaurant finalized the purchase of 43rd Street Deli & Breakfast House’s former Williston Road location this week.
The announcement comes a few months after the deli posted on Facebook that it would close its operations at 3483 SW Williston Rd. and consolidate into its original storefront, which opened in 1984 at 4410 NW 25th Pl.
The family-owned deli, whose founder, Paul Cakmis, passed away in June 2024, said in a press release that it’s excited to focus on the place that’s always been the heart of its business, and that it intends to continue serving the same signature dishes it always has.
“While it’s the end of an era, it’s also the beginning of a new chapter,” the deli said on Facebook. “The next family to step into this space holds a special place in our hearts—especially in Paul’s—and we look forward to supporting them as they begin their own journey.”
Formerly known as Mexico Lindo, Linda Vista is also family-owned and opened its first location in Gainesville at 7070 SW Archer Rd., Ste. 3102, in 2008.
Their menu offers a variety of traditional and unique south-of-the-border cuisine “made from the heart and prepared with love and care,” such as burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas and scallop quesadillas.
“Come eat with us and you eat with family!” says the restaurant’s website.
Linda Vista management told Mainstreet that more information about the new location and its opening will be formally announced next week.
