Gainesville’s specialty doughnut shop selection is welcoming a new addition on Saturday, Oct. 11, as Parlor Doughnuts celebrates its grand opening at 931 SW 2nd Ave.

From 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the craft doughnut and coffee food truck will give out one free doughnut to customers who sign up for the Parlor Perks App. The truck will operate during the same hours Monday through Sunday.

“My family and I are very excited to be expanding into the Gainesville community,” said Izzy Guibas, Gainesville’s Parlor Doughnuts co-owner, in a press release. “We are eager to get the ball rolling and start serving our delicious doughnuts.”

With a mission to serve up “Small batches, made all day,” Parlor’s menu features more than 20 different Famous Layered Doughnut flavors for under $4.

As opposed to traditional cake or yeast doughnuts, the layered doughnuts are made with layers of buttery dough fried to a crisp on the outside to stay light on the inside.

Parlor flavors include French toast, maple pecan, sandy beach, cookies n’ cream, peanut butter cup, turtle cheesecake, coconut cream filled and raspberry pistachio. Customers can also order mini layered doughnuts, keto, gluten-free and vegan recipes, as well as “pawlor” doughnuts made especially for furry four-legged friends.

Parlor also offers breakfast sandwiches, tacos, acai bowls and avocado toast, and a beverage menu with specialty coffees, teas, energizers, refreshers and old-fashioned sodas. Each order is made fresh when placed and can also be submitted online for pick-up or delivery.

According to the press release, Parlor Gainesville is Parlor’s sixth location in northeast Florida, alongside Fleming Island, Fruit Cove, Jacksonville Beach, World Golf Village and St. Augustine. Gainesville is the brand’s first food truck location and aims to support active military, veterans and first responders.

Darrick Hayden, his son, Noah, and Josh Tudela founded Parlor Doughnuts in Evansville, Indiana, in 2019, wanting to combine their passion for high-quality doughnuts and specialty coffee. Parlor now operates 90 shops in 20 states and has been approved to franchise in all 50 states across the country.
