Popular sportscaster joins Mainstreet Daily News

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (January 26, 2021) He was known in Jacksonville as the “Voice of the Ospreys,” but around town here in Gainesville he’s the uncontested high school sports expert. Mainstreet Daily News Publisher J.C. Derrick announced today that The Prep Zone’s Mike Ridaught (pronounced RIDE-out), long respected for his knowledge, coverage and commentary of Florida high school sports, has joined Mainstreet Daily News as its sports director.

Ridaught brings years of experience covering high school sports throughout Florida, hosting radio shows and providing play-by-play for both high school and collegiate sports, including the University of Florida. He is the founder of “The Prep Zone” broadcast entity, promoting high school sports with enthusiasm and insight since 1999.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Mike Ridaught and The Prep Zone. We are looking forward to Mike using his 30 years of experience to help establish Mainstreet Daily News as the leader in high school and prep school sports coverage in North Central Florida,” said Derrick.
