Key Points

After months of drool-filled waiting, Raising Cane’s opened its kitchen on Tuesday for Gainesville residents to visit.

The Louisiana-based fast food chain set up shop on University Avenue next to Five Below and across from UF. The restaurant held its grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Tuesday and will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight and open until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Gainesville location (1680 West University Ave.) marks the eighth Raising Cane’s in Florida with a ninth coming soon to Cutler Bay, just outside of Miami.
