Under the greatest of circumstances, finding a new job is a challenge. There is no easy way to gain employment except through the hard work and effort that employers are looking for.
Now throw in a pandemic, and that which is hard can seem impossible.
Pounding the pavement, face-to-face interviews, and knocking on doors are essentially out of the question during the coronavirus outbreak… so how can a person not only find a job, but the career they have always dreamed of?
One solution might be virtual job fairs.
With COVID-19 still prominent in Florida and across the country, many businesses are turning to virtual job fairs as a hiring strategy. And while it’s not new, the concept has been gaining ground since the pandemic began.Â
This is good news for the approximately 17 million Americans out of work today and the 6 million-plus graduates who have entered into a tough job market.
Locally, the MARC Media Group, which includes The Buzz 100.5, Magic 101.3, Classic Hits 100.9, I Am Country 106.9, The Shepherd 96.3 FM/1430 AM, and R&B 94.1 radio stations, as well as the Mainstreet Daily News online news site, is currently hosting an online job fair.Â
In November of 2019, I was hired by MARC to be the managing editor of Mainstreet Daily News, and I can tell you it’s a company you should consider if you are in search of employment.
MARC’s unique mission statement begins like this:
“Building togetherness through love, diversity and creativity from the inside out, to serve each other’s needs every day.”
That’s not the type of creed you see from most companies, but it’s what we strive to accomplish every day.
MARC Media has created a group of creative and innovative members that support one another no matter what the job description states. MARC is in many ways the definition of a TEAM.Â
