- The Amazing Give's 10th annual fundraiser involves 120 nonprofits across North Central Florida in a 12-hour event starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
- The Junior League of Gainesville aims to raise $1.2 million and has awarded over $13 million in past fundraisers through The Amazing Give event.
The Amazing Give will launch on Thursday with 120 nonprofits throughout North Central Florida participating in the 10th annual fundraising drive and engaging with donors and volunteers over a 12-hour window.
The Junior League of Gainesville hosts The Amazing Give and said 80% of participating nonprofits raise more during those short 12 hours than on any other day of the year. Junior League President Melissa Zawada said the goal is to raise $1.2 million to help strengthen the region and set a new standard for collective giving.
In the past nine editions, The Amazing Give raised over $13 million.
“As we celebrate 10 years of The Amazing Give, we’re incredibly proud of the impact this event has had on our community,” Zawada said in a press release. “Hosted by The Junior League of Gainesville, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to volunteerism and supporting the nonprofits that serve North Central Florida & make Gainesville great!”
The Amazing Give includes special prizes to nonprofits that receive the most donations in the morning, during lunch, rush hour and the final hour of the event. A prize is also awarded for the best campaign, best peer-to-peer fundraiser and six “Golden Ticket” awards.
The fundraiser goes live at 8 a.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Fundraiser campaigns will take to social media and emails for the give—and some have already started. Donations are given through The Amazing Give website.
Nonprofits range from Aces in Motion to Xavier House Unlimited and a full list can be found at the website through the search bar.
