A man and a woman were found shot and killed near Live Oak on Saturday morning.

According to a Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) release on social media, deputies received a 911 call regarding a death at 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of 40th Path and 167th Road.

Once on scene, deputies discovered a male lying on the ground outside the driver’s door and a female in the front passenger seat. Both victims were allegedly shot and deceased.

SCSO investigators determined that the manner of death was a homicide and requested assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to process the scene for forensic evidence.

According to the release, the victims’ next of kin have been notified but their names were not released, per Marsy’s Law.

As of Sunday, SCSO investigators and FDLE agents continue to work on the case and information will be released when appropriate to maintain this investigation’s integrity.
