Editor’s note: This story was updated from Monday’s GPD press release.
I was over playing tennis at TB McPherson yesterday (Monday 4/21) and a local man drove up to inform us that this incident actually occurred in front of/at the church just down the street from the park, First Missionary Baptist. Please check the facts as this man was in the area at the time of the shooting and confirmed it did not occur at the park itself. Part of his concern and reason for letting us know is that he does not want people to fear coming to the park
Murielle is correct. A quick check on Google Street View shows that this is clearly the driveway to the First Missionary Baptist church. The concrete structure next to those poor brave parents is rather unique.
The information Mainstreet received was from the Gainesville Police Department’s press release, which stated the Easter event was at TB McPherson Park.
People who shoot randomly into a crowd of innocent people are animals. They are terrorists and should rot in a prison cell while being terrorized by the other animals inside the prison. I pray they receive the punishment they deserve.
