A Gainesville man was shot and killed in the Holly Heights neighborhood on Saturday morning when he reportedly fired a gun and Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies shot the suspect.

According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) release, the incident occurred on Saturday morning in the 6700 block of SW 4th Place (Holly Heights) in Gainesville when ACSO deputies responded to a call about a man who was armed with a handgun and beating on the front door of a residence.

Upon arrival, deputies found an individual who was armed and brandishing a firearm, making statements that led deputies to believe he was in a heightened state of crisis. Deputies attempted to negotiate with the suspect, later identified as 55-year-old Darian D. Holmes.

They’ll get away scot free because of course they will. ACAB.

As they should. That’s what happens when you are a felon with a gun and you fire upon law enforcement. He FAFO.

You Said What?

I would hope someone that can better handle these situations would join law enforcement and show them how to handle a violent criminal safely. I’m sure you’d peacefully engage the felon shooting a gun, and be able to do it without injury to anyone. I’m sure you’ll make a great law enforcement officer with such skills and abilities. Sounds like your calling. I’d love to see the person in action that can rationalize with someone who’s in crisis… with a piece… shooting it… peacefully… without incident. Sounds like you wouldn’t even need a firearm! You can turn Gainesville around! Enjoy the academy, hope you save all the lives at ACSO or GPD!
