The Amazon distribution facility in northwest Gainesville was evacuated following a bomb threat on Tuesday morning.

According to Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Chief Inspector Jamie Kurnick, a call came in around 9 a.m. that a handwritten message was found on a restroom wall saying there was a bomb inside the building.

Amazon employees evacuated the facility and a GPD bomb-sniffing K-9 cleared the building in four hours.

Employees were allowed back into the facility and Kurnick said this is an ongoing investigation.
