Columbia County Sherriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies arrested three robbery suspects following a pursuit south of Lake City on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a CCSO press release, deputies responded to a Dollar General located at the intersection of State Road 247 and County Road 240 to the report of a robbery. Both a suspect and vehicle description were provided and CCSO deputy John Markmiller observed the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
Markmiller pursued the vehicle after it fled the attempted stop and CCSO Cpl. Scott Busby deployed spike strips ahead of the pursuit. The strips deflated two tires on the suspect’s vehicle and deputies apprehended the three people inside the vehicle.
The three suspects included driver Travice Davis, 33, Kelvin Hubbard, 33, and Trenese Brown, 31. Davis was charged with robbery by sudden snatching and fleeing and eluding, Hubbard was charged with accessory to robbery and Brown was arrested for violation of parole.
“It is always great when we can safely apprehend a suspect so quickly after they commit a crime,” said Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter in the press release. “I am very proud of our deputies for the way they demonstrated such great effectiveness in apprehending these individuals.”
