A Sunday shooting at the Chevron gas station on US Highway 441 near Interstate 10 in Columbia County killed one person.

According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) social media release, law enforcement responded to the gas station to the report of a shooting.
The suspected shooter was arrested and CCSO detectives were investigating the incident. The name of the alleged shooter was not given and, according to CCSO spokesperson Sgt. Steven Khachigan in an email reply, the investigation is still underway as of Monday morning.
