The callers stated there was a subject slumped inside a dark colored sedan parked near the apartment mailboxes. When deputies arrived, they found Certain suffering from a gunshot wound.

Alachua County Fire Rescue emergency responders transported Certain to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Another senseless tragedy,” said Alachua County Sheriff Emery Gainey in the release. “If you decide to arm yourself and chose violence in our county, we are going to hold you accountable. Weeks is an 18-year-old young man that has been adjudicated in the past as an adult for gun crimes. Violent acts with firearms will end with you in my jail.”
