FHP expands fatal hit-and-run vehicle list

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) expanded the vehicle search information for the suspect who struck and killed a Keystone Heights man along State Road 26 on Friday morning.

In a Monday press release, the expanded list now includes 1996-2007 Plymouth Voyagers, Dodge Caravans or Chrysler Town and Country minivans. The original initial list released Friday targeted Dodge Caliber sedans between the years of 2007 and 2012. The recovered pieces indicate the car is black.

According to the FHP, the next of kin have now been notified for the 37-year-old Keystone Heights man killed Friday morning while walking westbound on State Road 26 near the County Road 1469 intersection east of Orange Heights in eastern Alachua County. First responders pronounced the man dead on the scene.

The vehicle fled the scene and should be missing the right side mirror assembly or have significant right side windshield damage, according to the FHP.

FHP is asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact FHP at 1-800-387-1290 or Crime Stoppers of Alachua County either online or at 352-372-7867.
