The 51-year-old Morriston man who turned in front of a motorcycle, leading to the rider’s death, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) with serious bodily injury.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) email sent Wednesday, David Greene was arrested on Monday, Jan. 13, and charged.
FHP also announced that the white vehicle that fled the scene of the fatal hit-and-run was located.
The incident occurred on Sunday night when a 37-year-old Elkton, Maryland, man riding a motorcycle died after Greene turned in front of him on US Highway 41.
According to an FHP release, Greene was driving a sedan southbound on US Highway 41 at SE 35th St. in Morrison at 7:10 p.m. when he made a left turn in front of the motorcycle rider, who was northbound on US 41. The motorcycle collided with the right rear of the sedan and the Elkton man fell from his motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was then struck by three vehicles– a white passenger vehicle, followed by a 70-year-old Morriston woman driving an SUV and a 30-year-old Huntington, Indianapolis, man driving a van.
The white passenger vehicle fled the scene while the SUV and van pulled over and stopped.
