A federal grand jury indicted Robert Lee Johnson, III, 39, of Gainesville with six counts of production of child pornography, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida announced Friday.

The indictment sets up a jury trial for April 8, 2026. If convicted, Johnson faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years for each count.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christie Utt is prosecuting the case.

The grand jury indictment is an allegation by the judges but doesn’t serve to sentence Johnson. The prosecution will still need to prove its case to the jury.
