A Gainesville man was arrested Tuesday morning when he allegedly threatened to kill his mother and fired shots into her residence.
According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) release, officers responded to the area of 3400 NW 54th Lane at 12:40 a.m. to an armed disturbance after a woman called complaining her son was trying to kill her.
Officers arrived and found that Bryan Joseph Howard, 36, allegedly drove to the residence after threatening to kill his mother. After he arrived, Howard kicked the front door and broke a window.
Howard’s brother, who was inside the residence, believed Howard was shooting into the residence and started firing several shots out of the residence. Howard fled the scene and was eventually arrested by the responding officers.
No injuries were reported and Howard was charged with two counts of shooting a deadly missile into a dwelling and one count of attempted occupied burglary.
