The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) arrested Troy Baker Robinson, 36, on Tuesday for two separate sexually charged burglary incidents—just six days after being released from the Alachua County Jail.

GPD responded first to an incident in the 1800 block of NW 2nd Ave. According to a press release, Robinson had entered her bedroom by stacking abandoned furniture to reach the balcony and using an unlocked door.

The release said the victim tried to leave the bedroom when Robinson grabbed her, causing the victim to scream and bringing her roommate to help. Robinson fled back through the balcony, and GPD were called to the scene.

Later that morning, GPD responded to a 911 text message about a burglary in progress in the 900 block of NW 6th Avenue.

The report said that Robinson entered a third-story apartment through an unlocked door. A female victim awoke to Robinson on her bed naked, and she began talking to Robinson while she texted 911.

GPD responded and found Robinson still inside the residence.

After interviews, the GPD report said Robinson admitted to both incidents.

He had served 364 days in the Alachua County Jail for aggravated stalking and an occupied burglary charge. GPD said that Robinson cut off his ankle monitor two days after his release, giving him two active Violation of Probation warrants.

He’s being charged with burglary and false imprisonment for the first incident and burglary and attempted sexual battery for the second incident.

The investigation is ongoing, GPD said.

He has Jim Colaw as his judge. Upon conviction, we’ll not see Inmate Robinson until roughly 2060.
