The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is investigating a stabbing homicide that occurred on Sunday night on NW 3rd Street.
According to a GPD release, officers responded around 11:09 p.m. to the 500 block of NW 3rd Street following reports of a physical altercation.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
GPD detectives are investigating the altercation to discover the circumstances surrounding the incident and will release additional information as it becomes available.
