Gainesville shooting on NE 15th Street injures teenager

A 19-year-old man was shot Sunday in the 3000 block of NE 15th Street in Gainesville.

According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) release, officers responded after receiving a call of a person shot and from numerous residents reporting gunfire in the 3000 block of NE 15th Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a 19-year-old man who had been shot. They rendered aid before he was transported to a local hospital.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue to identify witnesses and analyze forensic evidence.
