The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Dixie County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert David Miller, a 44-year-old Bell resident, on Wednesday for 14 counts of possession of child pornography, with plans to extradite him to Gilchrist County.
Miller is being held on a $1.4 million bond.
The investigation started in early May when the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) received a call regarding an allegation of voyeurism and a juvenile victim. According to a press release, Miller was quickly identified as a suspect.
He was arrested at the time and released on a $26,000 bond.
With aid from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, GCSO continued investigating and executed a search warrant for Miller’s residence. Law enforcement reported gathering more evidence of voyeurism and child sexual abuse material.
After collaborating with FDLE, detectives obtained an arrest warrant, leading to Miller’s re-arrest on Wednesday.
“The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office expresses its gratitude to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement-Gainesville Field Office, and the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance throughout this investigation,” a press release stated.
