Passengers in a silver Kia Sol fired shots into a crowd clearing from the bars in downtown Gainesville during closing hour around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Two Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers took cover from the shots fired, and other officers saw the gunfire and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

No one was injured from the gunfire, and GPD authorized a vehicle pursuit, according to a press release. The Kia Sol crashed soon after at 3100 N. Main Street. GPD set a perimeter and later apprehended four local residents who fled the vehicle. Law enforcement also found two firearms.
