The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) arrested a Gainesville woman on child exploitation charges stemming from files she downloaded off social media.

GPD officers served a search warrant at 6330 NW 33rd Terrace on Tuesday. According to a GPD release, the visit to the home came after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a cyber tip.

The tip indicated that an account holder at the address uploaded and shared child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through Facebook. A total of 10 tips were received and detectives obtained lawful access to the account information and the files shared, GPD said in its release.

Emily Robinson

GPD investigators found the account was likely registered to Emily Robinson, 19, who lived at the residence. Robinson acknowledged it was her Facebook account but initially denied that she uploaded, distributed and solicited child sexual abuse material. She later admitted she did, according to the release, which said an analysis of Robinson’s cell phone also revealed four videos of CSAM in her possession.

GPD detective Donna Montague arrested Robinson and charged her with four counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography, and one count of transmission of harmful material to minors.

Robinson is being held at the Alachua County Jail on a $650,000 bond.
