The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is searching for the identity of an armed robbery suspect who targeted two victims in two separate hotel rooms.

According to a GPD release sent Monday, a male subject got inside two separate hotel rooms at the Quality Inn University (2435 SW 13th St.) where, once inside the room, he held the victims at gunpoint, tied them up, then beat and struck them with a pistol before stealing one of the victim’s trucks.

The suspect fled in the truck and later crashed around SE Williston Road and SE 16th Avenue, where he fled into the woods. Law enforcement officers were unable locate the suspect.
