Gunfire strikes Lake City business, 2 vehicles

Gunfire struck a Waffle House and two vehicles in Lake City early Wednesday morning.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, officers responded to reported gunfire at 12:54 a.m. to 348 SW Baya Avenue.

When officers arrived at the Waffle House, they were directed to a possible vehicle that was involved in the shooting. The vehicle was stopped, but all the occupants were cleared of involvement in the shooting.

Both the Waffle House and two vehicles were struck by gunfire with occupants inside the Waffle House and one of the vehicles at the time of the shooting. No one was injured during the incident.

Several individuals at the business witnessed the event but could not provide a description of the shooter.
