An Inglis man was arrested Tuesday in Williston on alleged murder charges stemming from a Monday shooting.
According to a Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) release, a person called 911 about a shooting and said he heard gunshots outside his residence and found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the driveway.
LCSO deputies and Levy County Department of Public Safety personnel responded to the scene and administered aid to the victim, who succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses told deputies they heard a motorcycle leaving the area following the shooting. The investigation led to Brandon Capozzi as a person of interest and law enforcement established probable cause for Capozzi’s arrest.
With help from the Williston Police Department, LCSO detectives took Capozzi into custody in the McDonald’s parking lot in Williston.
According to the release, LCSO detectives discovered specific details from Capozzi that corroborated evidence at the scene, along with witness statements and motive.
Capozzi was arrested and charged with homicide.
