A 22-year-old Williston man was indicted in federal court for charges related to armed drug trafficking.

According to a Northern District of Florida U.S. Attorney’s Office press release sent Monday, Kendrick Jermaine Hills Jr. was indicted, and a jury trial is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 13 before Chief District Court Judge Allen Winsor. If convicted, Hills faces up to life imprisonment.

Hill was arrested on July 10 and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Midori Lowry at the U.S. Courthouse in Gainesville on the same day.

He was indicted for one count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and one count of carrying a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, which Assistant U.S. Attorneys James McCain and Adam Hapner are prosecuting.
