Lake City fight leads to seven arrests

Lake City police arrested seven women involved in a fight at the Cedar Park Apartments on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) report, officers responded to 399 NW Bascom Norris Dr. at 5:27 p.m. where they located a large crowd of combatants, along with other people, in the parking lot.

After interviewing witnesses, officers determined seven individuals were involved in an ongoing dispute that turned physical on Tuesday. One of the women involved—Imari Danielle Bell—used pepper spray that not only struck her combatants, but also two 6-year-old children standing nearby, according to the report.

Officers also determined Vanity Leona Curry damaged a vehicle in the parking lot belonging to one of the individuals involved in the altercation.

Law enforcement arrested all seven individuals and transported them to the Columbia County Detention Center. The individuals arrested included:

  • Imari Danielle Bell, 411 NW Bascom Norris Drive, Lake City, charged with aggravated battery, battery and disorderly conduct. 
  • Miesha Denise Byrd, 927 NW Olivia Ct., Lake City, charged with battery and disorderly conduct.
  • Vanity Leona Curry,  644 NW Wilson Street, Lake City, charged with battery, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
  • Asayshia Amya Shade, 1006 NE Cherry Lane, Lake City, charged with battery, and disorderly conduct.
  • Kulenna Yrette Stephens, 399 NW Bascom Norris Dr., Lake City, charged with battery and disorderly conduct.
  • Chakora N. Thompkins, 399 NW Bascom Norris Dr., Lake City, charged with battery and disorderly conduct.
