The Lake City Police Department arrested Dominic Terrell Brantley, 33, on Friday and charged him for an October 2021 homicide

“I would like to thank the community for stepping forward and providing statements in this case,” Gerald Butler, chief of police, said in a release. “Their statements allowed investigators to tie evidence from different locations together and this is another example of the community working in conjunction with law enforcement to remove another violent offender from our streets.”

Officers conducted a wellness check at the Columbia Arms Apartments, 1404 S. Marion Avenue on Oct. 12, 2021. The social services program manager told law enforcement that a client hadn’t been heard from for several days—an uncommon occurrence.
