Lake City police search for shooting suspect

The Lake City Police Department (LCPD) is asking the public for information concerning a shooting on Sunday near the intersection of NW Wilson Street and NW Texas Avenue near US 41.

According to a LCPD report, the department dispatched officers at around 3 p.m. After arriving at the scene, they spoke with a victim.

The person told officers they were travelling on Wilson Street as a black, early model Toyota Camry with black hub caps approached from the opposite direction.The driver of the Camry stopped, exited the vehicle and began to fire a handgun at the victim’s vehicle, who fled the scene before reporting the incident.

Officers found bullet holes in the rear of the victim’s vehicle.
