The victim initially said they did not know the other passenger and described the shooter as a young black male with locks. After continued questioning and reports from witnesses, officers discovered Murrell was driving the vehicle and both Murrell and the victim got into an argument. Murrell stopped the vehicle and told the victim to get out and, when the victim refused to exit, he shot the victim.

LCPS located Murrell and he was arrested for aggravated battery.
