
The Lake City Police Department (LCPD) is searching for a man who allegedly threw a pitchfork at another person on Monday following an argument.
According to an LCPD release, officers were dispatched at 8:25 a.m. on Monday to NW Palm Drive to the report of a person stabbed with a pitchfork.
When they arrived, officers found a 49-year-old victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and head. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital.
The victim and witnesses on scene told investigators that the suspect – 36-year-old Ryan Paul McCartney – became upset following a verbal altercation and threw a pitchfork at the victim. McCartney then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
McCartney is being sought on an active arrest warrant for attempted second-degree murder. He has brown/blonde hair, blue eyes, is 5-foot-7 and weighs 160 pounds.
LCPD said McCartney is dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees or knows the location of McCartney is asked to call 911. If anyone has information about the incident, call LCPD at 386-752-4343.
