A Gainesville man received a life sentence after he was found guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child.
According to a State Attorney’s Office release, Eighth Judicial Circuit Judge James M. Colaw sentenced Donald Bryan McKee, 67, to life in the Florida Department of Corrections after an Alachua County jury found McKee guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 years of age as well as lewd exhibition as an offender 18 years or older.
The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) launched and investigation on Feb. 3, 2022, from an abuse tip from the Gulfport Police Department where GPD investigators determined that McKee had committed the acts between September 2019 and September 2020.
McKee had been in custody since Feb. 2, 2022 and had a documented criminal history in the Ninth Judicial Circuit for sexual battery, robbery, DUI, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and robbery with a firearm.
