Shooting in Lincoln Estates neighborhood kills 1

One man died Sunday evening in a shooting in the Lincoln Estates neighborhood.

According to Gainesville Police Department (GPD) spokesperson Brandon Hatzel, officers responded to a 9:15 p.m. call about a shooting in the 1300 block of SE 17th Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim, later identified as 20-year-old Calvin Brasby, with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Emergency responders transported Brasby to a local hospital where he died.

Hatzel said this is an active investigation.
