Student arrested for bringing gun to school

Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) deputies arrested a student who brought a firearm to Trenton High School on Friday.

According to a GCSO report, a tip that came to the school administration led to the administration searching multiple vehicles and discovering the gun, along with ammunition and multiple knives, in the student’s vehicle in the campus parking lot.

There was no imminent danger to students or faculty nor apparent intent to use the firearm or weapons by the student, but the GCSO and Gilchrist County School District take the presence of weapons on school grounds very seriously, according to the report.
