Suspect’s vehicle identified in hit-and-run homicide

Law enforcement is searching for a 2010 light green Hyundai Sonata that was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run homicide on Friday.

According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) release, the vehicle entered a parking lot in the area of 3300 Clark Butler Blvd. around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, at a high rate of speed, struck the pedestrian and fled. The vehicle’s Florida tag is Y49OYQ.

Emergency responders transported the adult male pedestrian to UF Shands Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
