A 19-year-old man died from gunshot wounds following a shooting on NW Long Street in Lake City on Sunday morning.
According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, officers were dispatched to NW Long Street to the report of gunshots.
When they arrived, they found Nicholas Rashard Whitehead suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported Whitehead to Lake City HCA Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies assisted LCPD officers in securing the crime scene and Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigators processed the scene.
