A months-long undercover drug enforcement operation on properties located north of Raiford in Union County led to six arrests, including three on Friday.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) social media release, deputies and investigators from the UCSO, Union County Drug Task Force Team and the Bradford/Union County SWAT Team made three arrests on Friday and three others off-site during January.
On Friday, Jan. 26, units served search and arrest warrants at NE 222nd Road (North County Road 229).
The three people arrested included Wesley Harold Lewis, 55, of Raiford; Gregory S. Baton, 39, of Baker County; and Tara L. West, 34, of Raiford.
Lewis was charged with two felony counts of drug possession, two counts of sale of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $100,000. He was transported to the Union County Jail.
Barton was charged with a felony violation of probation from Baker County. He was transported to the Union County Jail and then to the Baker County Jail under a no-bond warrant.
West was charged with felony drug possession.
Prior to the Friday raid, three other individuals were arrested as part of the investigation. They included Jeffery Andrews, 37, of Raiford; Doris “Wendy” Rewis, 48, of Raiford; and Mark Calvin Griffis Jr., 34, or Raiford.
Andrews was arrested on Jan. 2 and charged with two counts of felony sale of methamphetamine, two counts of felony possession of methamphetamines and two counts of using a two-way cell device to facilitate a felony. He is in the Union County Jail with a $120,000 bond.
Griffis was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with felony burglary and dealing in stolen property and felony larceny. He is in the Union County Jail on a $17,500 bond.
Rewis was arrested on Jan. 18 and charged with felony sale of methamphetamine and is in jail on a $25,000 bond.
