The Gator Citrus Club at UF will hold its annual Holiday Citrus Sale on Dec. 4-6. Fresh Florida navel oranges, tangerines (limited availability) and grapefruits will be available for purchase at Fifield Hall (2550 Hull Rd.) in Gainesville.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day and up to five of each variety can be purchased in two to four 5-bushel box sizes, ranging from $30 to $60 each. Pre-orders placed by Dec. 1 using this form will receive a 10% discount, and orders must be picked up by Dec. 5 or they will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis.

Citrus orders are subject to availability due to the devastating effects of Huanglongbing, a bacterial infection also known as HLB or Citrus Greening affecting citrus trees. Since first introduced, the disease has decreased Florida’s orange acreage and yield by up to 42%.
