Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) announced Monday that 375 students have been recognized in this year’s College Board National Recognition Program.

According to an ACPS release, the students represent every high school in the district, including Buchholz, Eastside, Gainesville, Hawthorne, Newberry, Professional Academies Magnet (PAM) at Loften and Santa Fe.

To be eligible for the recognition, the release said students had to receive a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher and demonstrate outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), the PSAT 10 and/or Advanced Placement exams.

According to the College Board, colleges and universities are interested in recruiting National Recognition award winners who represent a wide range of schools and communities.

“For students across the country, the award represents more than an academic honor. It signals their achievement to colleges and scholarship programs that may not actively recruit in their communities,” Amy Reitz, senior vice president at the College Board, said in the release. “We congratulate all students who earned an award by demonstrating exceptional academic achievement.”

College Board manages the National Merit Scholarship Program, the Advanced Placement program, the SAT and several other college entrance exams. The organization recently released the names of students who earned Semifinalist status in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, including 20 ACPS students.
