Breaking News: UF cancels Saturday’s game with LSU due to COVID-19 outbreak in its program

The University of Florida’s football game with Louisiana State scheduled for this Saturday has been canceled due to an outbreak of COVID-19 inside the Florida program.

The game will now be played on December 12th in Gainesville.

The Southeastern Conference said that the cancelation of this weekend’s game is due to the positive tests in the Florida program, as well as the SEC’s COVID management plan.

The news comes just a day after Florida suspended all football activities due to an abundance of positive COVID-19 tests. Florida’s program announced it has over 20 positive tests among the members of its football program, which includes players and staff, according to Scott Strickland, Athletic Director at UF.

This is the second SEC game to be postponed from Saturday’s schedule. The University of Missouri and Vanderbilt University also canceled their game.
