
- Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed C. Austen Roberts, George Fletcher, Jeffrey Oody, and Robert Woody to the Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees.
- The appointments are pending Florida Senate approval and include professionals from construction, banking, and corrections backgrounds.
Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday the appointment of one member and three returning members to the Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees.
The appointments are subject to approval by the Florida Senate. The appointed trustees include C. Austen Roberts, George “Blake” Fletcher, Jeffrey Oody and Robert Woody.
Roberts is the president of The Roberts Companies and a co-owner and broker of Swift Creek Realty. He is a member of the Florida Forestry Association Board of Directors and a construction volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
According to a press release from the Governor’s Press Office, Roberts earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University.
Fletcher is the president of Fletcher Construction LLC. and the owner and manager of W. Group Property Management and Fletcher Development LLC. His community involvement has included serving on the North Central Florida Builders Association Board of Directors and the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization Citizens Advisory Committee.
The release said Fletcher earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
Oody is the president and chief executive officer of Community State Bank in Starke. He has served as a member of the Rotary Club of Starke, the North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce, Bradford County Education Foundation and the Bradford County Tourism Development Council.
According to the release, Oody earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate from the University of North Florida. He also received a master’s degree in business administration from Liberty University.
Woody is currently retired and previously worked as the jail director for the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) and a correctional probation officer for the Florida Department of Corrections. He has served on the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Board of Trustees and as a commissioner for the Eighth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.
The release said Woody earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta and a master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Rollins College.
