Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday the appointment of two new members and two returning members to the Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees.

These appointments are subject to approval by the Florida Senate. The appointed trustees include Robert Alan Hitchcock, Karin Montini, Emery Gainey and Caridad “Carrie” Lee.

Hitchcock is the vice president of Hitchcock & Sons, Inc. And part of the Ronald McDonald House Gainesville Board of Directors. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University, the press release said.

Hitchcock recently reflected on his family’s local legacy following the sale of all the Hitchcock’s Markets.

Montini is the associate head of school at Oak Hall School and worked previously as curriculum developer for Kaplan K-12 Learning Services. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Florida State University and her master’s degree in school leadership from Harvard University, the release said.

Gainey served as sheriff of Alachua County and Marion County before that. He also worked as chief of staff for the Office of the Florida Attorney General. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Florida.

He has previously served on the Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees.

Lee is the president and owner of Florida Blue Farms, Inc. She served as vice president of the Florida Woodland Company and a teacher for Marion County Public Schools. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Florida and attended Loyola University to receive a master’s degree in religious education from Loyola University.

She has previously served on the Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees.
