Eastside Boys bounce back against Vanguard; Trenton Girls blast Orange Park

On Saturday, the Eastside boys basketball team got back in the win column with a 71-45 win against Vanguard (Ocala) at the Tim Brinkley Memorial at North Marion High School.  Three players scored in double figures for the Rams, led by senior Jarvey Gainey, who finished with a team-high 19 points.  Senior Omar Brown was next with 13 points, including a pair of threes, followed by junior Tre’lyn Moore with 12. Eastside, which improved to 4-1, will travel to Bradford (Starke) tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Tonight at 7:30 the Trenton girls basketball team will host P.K. Yonge of Gainesville in a game that was originally scheduled for November but was postponed due to COVID-19.  

This past Saturday night, the Class 1A Lady Tigers moved to 8-0 with a 57-36 home win against Class 5A Orange Park.  Junior Jordan Douglas was one of two Trenton players in double figures.  Douglas scored a game-high 22 points, followed by senior Janiyah King with 16 points.  King added a team-leading 12 rebounds against the Raiders. Senior Kinsey Akins was second with 10 rebounds, while junior Bri Becker led Trenton with 10 assists.
