Gainesville Commissioner-at-large Gail Johnson and other community leaders will gather tonight to discuss educational challenges facing the area.
School rezoning, student literacy, and vocational, career and technical training, among other topics, according to a city press release. The event will run from 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm.
District 20 state Rep. Yvonne Hayes Hinson, .Alachua County Commissioners Mary Alford, Anna Prizzia and Marihelen Wheeler, and Alachua County School Board members Tina Certain, Diyonne McGraw and Leanetta McNealy will all join Johnson on the call.
The city has invited community members to call in with questions during the last part of the program. They can do so using the toll-free public participation line at 800-876-7516.
The town hall will also be streamed on the city’s Facebook page, the City of Gainesville website and on COX Cable Channel 12. The video will be archived online and available for later viewing.
