Frazer School teams earn first, second place at Regional Science Bowl

Two Frazer School teams placed first and second at the Florida Regional Science Bowl on Feb. 28 at Kennedy Middle School in Rockledge.

The two teams competed against the top middle school teams across the region, according to The Frazer School press release.

The National Science Bowl is a quiz-based competition that tests students’ knowledge in a wide range of STEM subjects, including biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, energy and mathematics. Teams must quickly collaborate to solve challenging questions under time pressure.

The first-place team included Isabella Mendoza, Jason Zhang, Arthur Lou, Vivek Kolli and Samuel Dong, while the second-place team was comprised of Dennis Chi, Jacob Paret, Jacob Li, Nivedh Naik and Stephen Wang.

“We are incredibly proud of these students and the dedication they showed in preparing for the competition,” said Frazer School coach Kim Baxter in the press release. “Their success reflects not only their knowledge of science and mathematics, but also their teamwork, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning.”

With their first-place finish, The Frazer School’s championship team has qualified to compete at the National Finals of the National Science Bowl, which will be held April 30 to May 4 in Washington, D.C. The national competition brings together the top teams from across the United States.
