This was the first time that a Gainesville-area middle school or District 1 (consisting of 20 counties representing Northeast Florida from Jacksonville to Ocala) representative has been selected for a Mainstage performance, the release said.
Lincoln Middle Troupe director Jackie Collins, who is also a theatre and choral teacher at Howard Bishop and Lincoln Middle Schools, started the troupe during the 2022-2023 school year. The troupe finished their competition season by performing ‘All Girl Band’ at the 2026 Education Gala on Feb. 27.
